Hi,

I am planning a day out at Kew and driving in on Easter Saturday.

KG website says Ferry lane parking is limited but on Google Maps it looks like they have a lot of spots if early.

Am I underestimating this?

If your there early should be fine, otherwise there are several roads not far from the main entrance where you can pay to park
Thats what my gut said.

We'll be there early to avoid traffic and get breakfast so should be ok.

Looks like Brentford are home to Man utd but not not kicking off til 8pm so probably ok.

I lived and worked around there for 10 years and can confirm parking is a bit of a pain - if going early the Kew car park should be fine though.
If travelling later then parking at Ealing Broadway and getting the 65 bus is an option as the service is fairly frequent.
We'll be up there early before 10am to get some parking.

Just hope the weather behaves, Although being a Londoner I've not been to Kew before.

Looks like it has all gone Permit only so it'll be an early rise.

Just noticed the boat race is on down the road as well but luckily starts from Mortlake.

Well we got some parking today on ferry lane but what a ball ache it was to walk round with a 3 year old. I think I'd try and get Just Park next time and go round to the other entrance.

Few expletives when arriving as a bloody "fun run" was happening from 830 with 2 million lycra clad runners all over the place and already in the park.

Luckily they all cleared off by 10 and just after opening.

Nice day out around Kew, difficult to see everything with a little man with short legs, I think we walked about 10 miles, the tree top walk was blddy wobbly!

I got there at 9.45 and parked in the car park, was fine then. Probably less fine 30 mins later.

£9 was as cheap as any just park you’ll find I think. We just took a scooter.
Yes, good value, travelling up the M3 and in to Kew I didn't fancy risking sitting in potential traffic but we could do later next time for sure.

Was that usually how busy it gets on an Easter? The Bluey thing was a Bain, I appreciate these venues doing this to keep kids interested but it was bedlam.

What`s the best day, as in quietest day to visit Kew gardens?

I`m planning a trip there soon having never been before.
I wondered this, im not sure if it will get a lot of coach trips full of pensioners and tourists during midweek!

I`m planning on a week day, I`ll take my chances I guess, a Monday or a Thursday.

As far as parking is concerned, I`ve found there is all day parking at Sainsbury`s for £8.50 within a reasonable walk to Kew.

I`ve only ever been to London once, I`m dreading the traffic, cyclists, bus lanes and the amount of people.

Now I`m looking for some decent, sensibly priced accommodation.
Premier inn Kew is cheapest option surely? .
