Oh, I once met Barry McGuigan, he was in the lane beside us at a bowling alley. I said "excuse me, are you Barry McGuigan?"

He confirmed that he was indeed Barry McGuigan then started talking in his funny accent. I didn't really understand what he was saying so nodded and smiled until it was my turn to bowl.

I've got the same birthday as Jason Plato.

I remember being at his first touring car race and reading up his facts, saw we shared a birthday and he immediately became my favourite touring car driver.
You should tell him.

He can often be found here:

Remember, he doesn't give a st about all that BTCC nonsense but he'll happily chat away about his car reviews.

I was at a wedding a couple of years ago, Charlotte Church was rumoured to be attending the evening party.

She didn't.

I reversed my Alfasud Ti into the back of Anthony Quayle's car in St James' Square in 1988. We were both going for the same parking space. He was very nice about it: his wife got out and started being hysterical - "Get back in the car, dear, and just leave this to me". I offered to pay for a new numberplate to replace the one I had broken and gave him my address, but never received a bill.

Tonight I will be watching 'Ice Cold in Alex' in memory of a thoroughly decent chap.
He seems to have died shortly after you rammed him. frown

I think if thread proves anything, it's what an incredibly well-connected chap the average PHer is.

From having once seen a professional footballer in public to being friends with someone who once knew a singer, the circles we move in are truly astonishing. I think this is proof that we are truly set apart from the other motoring forums, a step above.
