Sartorial wedding advice

Going to a wedding at the weekend. I have a medium/light grey suit and am thinking of going with a black shirt which has a purple pinstripe, and a purpley tie. My wife is giving me st because 'I shouldn't be wearing black to a wedding' and the happy couple are fashionistas

Now, frankly I don't give a st but I want an easy life you know?
