Does aftershave go off?

I was just wondering - I've got a bottle of aftershave (Brut) I've had for a about 5 years now, and I've not worn it much at all recently. I went to put some on the other day and it was nowhere near as nice as I remember. Does it go off/sour/turned over time, or is it just likely my tastes have changed?
