What daft things have dawned on you later in life?

I used the abbreviation 'AKA' a while back in a post: I have always known it meant alias/nickname etc. but never knew why, so I looked it up and apparently it means 'also known as'. Who knew? I was also about 35 when I twigged on about the black, horrible looking bananas in the fruit bowl that should be eaten first as 'they're good for you when they're like that' as told to me by my Mother What are your light bulb moments?
