I've got to arrange my best mates stag-do at the end of January. Never done anything like this before so need some help.

Basic details are as follows:

26 of us
1 day and one night
Located relatively close to london

Thought about the usual stuff: paint balling, go-karting etc but the fact it's likely to be pretty cold and wet in January has put me off the paint balling. Clay pigeon shooting could mean lots of standing around while people aren't shooting.

No real ideas other than that.

Any ideas, experiences or pointers would be greatly received!

we looked at this but there are no meets on the 31st. everybody is in their 30's with a few older guys - never heard of monopoly on the tube - might be interesting.

its so hard trying to keep everyone happy.

thanks for the input guys.

In my experience, keep it simple.
Paintball is good fun, and part of the fun is getting st high, so you can clean up and dress up later if necessary. The same works for any other outdoorsie type stuff.
As for venue, if you're in good company, choose a good bar, that most of you can enjoy, and has an enlightened view about licencing hours. Organising a huge walk/taxi/drive around is a pain, and unnecessary, and likely to have some awols.

How about track day/driving experience, and the evening in a nearby venue that you can push on til dawn if necessary? Those that can't or don't want to shell out for the day, can enjoy the banter between those that did during the day.
not a bad idea. the biggest problem i think will be keeping everyone there for the day/night. pretty much everyone is already married with kids and i think there may be some that do a dissapearing act. if there was 10 of us, itd be easy. 26 is a bit of a PITA. called a few london bars we have connections to and they all were very iffy about the size of the group(even when i said it was for a birthday rather than a stag do)

off to do more googling.
