How these stores do it is beyond me.

I know it's not very PH but sometimes needs must.

I bought a set of 5 spanners for a pound. I accept if you use these tools for your living they probably aren't for you but they seem ok in a home DIY way, you'd definitely be happy at £5.99 for them so a pound is nuts.

What's your best buy? Or am I alone in this.

Not sure if the people who say they'd be embarrassed to go there are serious or being humourous.

There are some great buys in pound stores.

I'm not saying you'd go there to buy something for a special occasion but an iPhone charger for a pound! 10 tubes of superglue for a pound! I love stuff like that.

I know the Poundland aftershaves are far from the last word in gentlemen so fragrance BUT

I have actually bought some and of a morning I'll spray one on, I often get quite favourable comments!!

It also makes me look at the very extensive collection of Gucci, Davidoff, and Tom Ford I have and realise how brilliant those firms are at marketing and PR because, yes, they're stuff is better but £60 plus a bottle.

We are being mugged off for sure.

Never heard that one beforerolleyes

My IPad cover, original Apple costing £29.99 was looking worse foe wear so I went into the 99p store thinking you never know.

I bought a Belkin Snap fit cover for the price over the door, remarkable.

It even has the Apple logo on the back as authorised supply.

I've heard that due to the complications of the logo, it's almost impossible to fake that so you can rest assured you're buying genuine articles.
I guess you're being sarcastic but without a doubt it's a Belkin cover which is approved by Apple 100%. To be honest even if it were as fake as a fake thing in a fake shop I wouldn't be fussed, it's a smart looking thing that protects my IPad for 99p.

I struggle to understand the posters who run down pound stores and there customers. I wonder if they are trying to make up for there own inadequacy by pretending that the shops, what they sell and there customers are beneath them. It's ridiculous.

Personally, I have some really nice things, house, cars, watches, clothes, but I've no issue with going into a pound shop and buying a phone charger, 30 sheets of sandpaper or an interesting DVD, all of which can be bought elsewhere for a lot more.

If some would rather stand in a queue in homebase and pay 4 times as much because they think the people are nicer fine but actually they are the same people.

Outside of the billionaires of Knightsbridge and a few of the nobility everyone uses these shops, blimey there's even a few in Roehampton and Richmond so unless people from that area are boycotting them I can't understand how they survive let alone thrive.

Blimey, that took a while, I hope it fits. For a pound it is a bargain.
