Mundane jobs that are oddly satisfying
Discussion
Just been defrosting the freezer. I find it oddly satisfying waging war against what start off as impenetrable chunks of ice that gradually thaw till you can pull big lumps of it out. Then ending up with a big pile of ice in the sink and an immaculate, ice free freezer (yes I should probably do it more often! ).
Also removing the shell from a hard boiled egg - trying to get as bigger pieces of shell as possible off.

Last time I did my beer fridge out there were massive chunks of ice, so I got one and smashed it on the past as I knew my wife due due any moment, so, I heard her car and was staring up at the sky when she arrived, I pretended not to notice her and kept gawping skyward, she asks whats going on and I pointed at the shattered ice and said it had just landed 3 feet from me and smashed on the floor, she fell for it hook line and sinker. Also removing the shell from a hard boiled egg - trying to get as bigger pieces of shell as possible off.

Taking stuff to the dump. Very satisfying lobbing a massive pile of wood/cardboard into a skip, making as much noise about it as possible. I even enjoy pouring used engine oil into those collectors.
I seem to enjoy waste more than I should do.
What about recycling empty glass bottles? Smash, smash, smash...I seem to enjoy waste more than I should do.

Painting. The change it can make to a room/hall/area to paint a lighter colour is amazing.
Yeah but after you have to clean all the brushes and rollers. Takes the shine off.I just buy cheap ones now and throw them in the bin :-)
