I'm sitting here in a hotel in San Mateo, and have to check out soon. I don't need to get to the airport until 5pm, my mate is out of town and I'm (mostly) done with work.

So what to do? All I can think of so far is:

Eat - I'll have a late lunch somewhere
Shop - electronics? Done that, but browsing Fry's is fun, maybe go to an auto parts store and see if there are any good tools on special

Which won't fill an afternoon. I could work some more but I'm losing the Bank Holiday anyway, and will end up working on the flight, so bugger that!

Ideas please!

No, never been! Just realised I've never been to the Winchester Mystery House either.

Tool shopping done. They're SO cheap! Time for Fry's. This could get expensive. Less than $40 so far though.

I only had a couple of hours, so I drove down to Stevens Creek and browsed in a music shop, then took a leisurely drive up 280, through Redwood City, lunch at Five Guys then to the airport. I've done the tourist stuff in the past, but live just driving round the various communities just looking at houses, cars, shops etc. if I'd had more time I'd have gone over to Half Moon Bay I think.
