Right, time of the year to kick this off again. It may be a bit early, but I've noticed a distinct change in the weather over the last few days. Autumn seems to be approaching.

What are the forecasts for this year? Are we looking at a bad winter, or just another annoying warm(ish), windy and sloppy affair? Or am I jumping the gun and we won't know for a while yet?

Snow on the way? smile

(I'm still forlornly hoping for an Indian summer.)
Me too. smile

However, the last few days have been rubbish. This morning was like an October morning too. 9 degrees.

Way too early, last year the first snow at my house was in 20 days time equivalent! Not even any snow on higher ground yet here. But have to agree with the OP, last 2 days have the feel of autumn/ winter coming soon.
Indeed. There has been a change to the weather in the mornings. I'm also noticing a bit more of a chill in the air on my bicycle.

Keeping an eye on a storm system around the Channel Islands/Cherbourg peninsular that's heading North. Looks like it's slowly breaking up, but could turn nasty again.

I've ditched the summer thread - none of that happening again this year!
What is going on with that? Met Office are saying it's going to hit East Anglia a bit, but Net Weather haven't even acknowledged it. smile

If you look at the rain radar you can clearly see the 'eye' of the system passing NNE over Normandy. Definitely looks like that will travel towards EA. But the messy bit is on the NW flank, so likely to effect Hants/Sussex first.
Ah, I see. Thanks. smile

Our heating went on for an hour on Saturday and an hour last night. Just to take the edge off. Don't think we need it on all of the time yet, although we have a separate heater for our little girl's bedroom.

Read comments above - signs are favourable but certainly nothing on the horizon at the moment. In fact many models are picking up likelihood of storms (windy rainy, autumnal type) next week.
Ball ache! I hate it when the wind comes. We live opposite fields and it whallops the front of our house. frown

Things to remain unseasonably warm and pleasant for the time being. No sign of wintry weather, and precious little autumnal weather!
That's a good thing. Isn't it? smile

It was light enough for a trip to work without the headlights this morning. We've also been able to use the central heating as and when required, rather than having it on full blast. Nice change. smile

Frost on the car this morning. Temp gauge in the car showed 2 degrees.

Finally felt that my winter tyres were being justified. smile

Cold and loads of rain in Lincolnshire.

Looks like we are due to be battered by some strong winds this afternoon and evening.
