Looking at taking the mrs away for a night over the bank holiday. Basically we want somewhere nice on Sunday and then something to do on the monday.

Location wise, within 150 miles / 3 hours of Newbury.
Activity wise, anything, we like musueums, activities like mazes, big old castles etc. We went to beaulie last weekend and had a great time for example.

Need some help as ive not had to do something like this for ages hah.

Cost wise about 150 including the dats activity at the top end, nice hotel or b&b?

Any suggestions?

Bath is where you want. st loads to do, some excellent restaurants and rammed to the eyeballs with proper people.
Bath could be nice! Any suggestions for decent hotels which have parking, i understand Bath is not very car friendly so you have to walk or bus everywhere?

Slap bang in the centre, valet parking

5 minutes walk from the centre, parking outside the front door:

At 335 and 795 quid respectively, I think I'll give that a miss lol.

If it helps we would be leaving around 5-6pm on Sunday so would hopefully miss the bulk of traffic.

Arundel looks like a good place as well. I think the problem here is hotels as most places seem expensive because it's a bank holiday. Robbing bds :-)

I don't think a motorsport weekend would go down too well..

The problem with getting the train is it would be about £30 each for us which adds a pretty high percentage to the price.

We have booked next Sunday / Monday in a hotel in the New Forest. Hoping for some nice weather.

We could not get hotels for love nor money. The reason we are staying away next weekend was because we thought we found a place this weekend but the stupid booking system (which I selected for this weekend) defaulted to next weekend and it wasn't until we paid for the non refundable booking that the text confirmation said.

This weekend we had a quiet night on Sunday and went down to Milford on Sea on the Monday, traffic wasn't bad really and had a lovely ice cream and walk along the beach smile
