Does anyone here wear fur.
Discussion
I have recently had a Sheepskin fur coat made. I love it! It feels luxurious and I can wear it on nights out and to rugby matches with just trousers, jeans and a long sleeved shirt or t- shirt.
What are your thoughts on fur! I would not wear, any other fur. I feel that sheep are being killed for meat anyway therefore it is ok to wear a ship skin coat. In the same way I wear leather shoes and have leather handbags but would not have alligator or snake skin.

I don't but only because I don't particulalry like it and it doesn't fit my manly look!
TBH I don't really think of the ethical side though as fur as a clothing product isn't on my wave length.
My daughter wears it though, she has a rabbit fur coat that she got mega cheap as the lady who sold it to her decided to become a vegan and wanted it gone asap, it was £850 new and she paid less than £50, she also has various hats made of various animal furs.
She works for a fashion brand; high end bags mainly, she has loads of leather items; bags, wallets, purses etc all made from crocodile skin, snake skin, calf leather, emu etc. The prices are astronomical but she gets them either free or at a vastly reduced rate. Apparently it is all ethically produced and farmed but I don't know if that is true or not
She loves labels and all that sort of stuff and doesn't care what people think, sometimes it is a bit difficult when she is around her sister in law as she is a vegan and also used to work for PETA.
Very lucky girl. My daughter has a Moncler coat which has a little bit of Canada goose I think and she has just been measured for a sheep skin gilet. Rabbit fur for £50 is amazing my kid would love that! I would to be fair but I have to have that sort of thing made for a perfect fit. I have a pair of rabbit fur lined peccary gloves - I don't think a man can really get away with anything else. I justify rabbit fur in the same way as the OP justifies sheepskin.
I do think a woman wearing furs can be very attractive in the right scenario but faux fur is hideous and should be avoided at all costs.
I agree. Faux fur is hideous!I do think a woman wearing furs can be very attractive in the right scenario but faux fur is hideous and should be avoided at all costs.

Wow! Is that you in the pic? I would not wear mine while plucking what looks like pheasant. Did you shoot that yourself? Don said:

As with others on this thread. If the fur is a by-product of an animal being sent to slaughter, or being killed by hunting or something similar then I don't have a problem with that.
But I would never wear fur from anything that had been bred on a fur farm and I find it astonishing that anyone can honestly not see any problem with that. Breeding animals just to slaughter them for vanity purposes is abhorrent in the extreme.
Personally I have no problem with animals being bred for their fur. So long as the rest of their carcass isn't wasted and their welfare is to a high quality. It's more important how good a LIFE they were having: which is the same argument as always trying to buy free-range, slow-grown chickens, rather than caged/barn birds. But I would never wear fur from anything that had been bred on a fur farm and I find it astonishing that anyone can honestly not see any problem with that. Killing animals because you want to use them is fine. Mistreating them so they have a miserable life is most definitely NOT.

Yes, they are all very good points. I suppose I was thinking more about animals being treated inhumanely.
I think most people are of the view that if it's not an endangered animal and if they are treated well and the rest of the body used then there is no problem with fur.The core issue with fur is that it is attached to animals with big baby eyes so the mentally weak and disturbed confuse them with children. They don't give a fk about chicken feathers because chickens are fk ugly.
Cold slimy things don't seem to elicit much love from the more militant of 'that sort' either.
