My family all do Wordle. Now, according to every source I can find Wordle publish a new word at midnight and that word is the same worldwide.

I found today's word very difficult, never even heard of it in fact. However my daughter and her bf who live in the same house had different words (they both got it correctly). The bf had the same word as me but my daughters was different. It's not yesterdays. The time on her phone etc is correct so how come she got a different word?

The only thing I can think of is that as they live in the same house and have the same (external) IP address then maybe Wordle gives different words to those under the same roof so's to speak but I doubt it. Maybe a bug?

Any idea why they had different words today?

Thanks. I searched the web and every site insisted they use the same answer daily.

My word today is aroma. Haven't had a recent one that any English speaker wouldn't know.
That was the easy one. I'd never even heard of the word I got.

Yesterday's word that I found difficult was "AGORA". I'd never even heard of it or seen it used anywhere.

For wordle I start with HOUSE & TRAIN, all the vowels and most common consonants. Sometimes only need one of them before moving on, but predominantly finish within 4.
Yes choice of starting word is critical I think. I use TABLE. HOUSE is a good one though.

I went one better and was just one letter out with my second guess but then took another 4 attempts at that missing letter

Ha I've had one like that. Got in at 6th go but there were several other possible words still to go, fortunately got the right one and passed the day.

Agoraphobia?
Ah now you say that it is a word I should have been able to guess, just never used it to date.

Is that even a word?!?
Oh yes!

Mind you tried my usual words and scored blank with all of those.

Yesterday was epoxy which they’d never heard of but I’ve been using for years so it was easy for me.

Yep, that's the site I've been using since they switched to NYT, if I refresh the site on my mobile I still get one word, but if I open it on the PC I get another...

I had 4 green letters after two attempts (1,2,3,5) and only just got it. Last chance was one of two possibilities and I guessed right.
Same for me. I was confident I’d get it in 3 but there’s about 7 words that got the 4 letters I had (second to last one missing )

WTF.

I know everyone has their own strategy and starting word. I have two that I chop and change between at random. But what are the odds that the answer IS my starting word!?

I'm oddly disappointed. I like the challenge of working out the answer.
Nice one. I’d love a few ones and twos as I compete with the family and currently am middling.

What really annoys me is the seemingly constant use of plurals for words - seems to be 'dumbing down' (and I know they need to cater to the masses etc...)
I don't remember many plurals in Wordle?
Me neither, was just thinking that myself.
Me too. In fact purposely never use plurals as they never work (at least for me so far)!

Failed today, stupidly went down the rabbit hole of having three of the letters in the correct places and reused them for each of the remaining guesses. Should have used a throwaway to give me some more letters instead of wasting my guesses reusing the three letters I knew, only eliminating two more letters each guess.

Annoying.

Damn yanks. Don’t they know Wordle is played outside the US?

Still, I got it in four but Mrs Molehusband was really annoyed with the word when I gave her a clue to get it in five.
I was 4 today also. You have to play it with American spellings in mind as we’ve had some of those too.

I've had a couple of failures in recent weeks. Which has annoyed me beyond reason. One the other day, I'd got three letters (wrong places) on guess two. By guess four I had three letters in the right places. Then I got the last letter but it was pot luck for the first letter. Hairy? Lairy? Fairy? Dairy? Too many possible solutions for the number of guesses I had remaining. Grrr! rage
Unless you’re playing in hard mode, the solution is to use one guess as a throwaway to eliminate letters. 28th March, I faced this: 6 possible answers and 4 remaining attempts!

Using the throwaway I guaranteed myself a win. It still took me to the last possible letter to get it right though laugh
Excellent example of the throwaway.
Yes good tip in that scenario. Not sure I’m clever enough to pull it off.
