We're so proud of this Christmas practical joke
Discussion
Tip; don't go on holiday for 4 weeks treking through South America over Christmas if you're a bit of a bah humbug and work in my office.
Between two of us, and with VP's full approval () we have just finished our masterpiece...

sorry Tinypic's being a bit rubbish at the moment, just trying to sort.
edit they should be ok now
Thanks everyone - we're quite proud
The receipient is the tightest guy in the known universe, but very accepting of the fact that he is. As such, this seemed just the best opportunity ever

Thanks everyone We were very proud and will do our very best to capture the guy's reaction when he comes in. He is normally the first guy in the office but we're hatching a plan to try and get him to come in about 10am (saying the carpets are going to be cleaned or something equally as dull) so we can see, and more importantly capture, his response
We reckon about 30 man hours in total. We started about 2 weeks ago (as soon as he left for his trek around South America) and did just a little bit every day and a lot on Fridays So yeah, probably about 30 man hours.
Being the sort of guy he is, he's the generous soul that goes around the office at waters all the plants each week. (we did buy an additional watering can so we could still actually water the plants and he didn't come back to his beloved plants looking all...well, dead!)

So, how long did it actually take?

Why does he/she have a watering can on their desk??

Well, he loved it!! Took it completely within the spirit with which it was made and really did smile.
Here's a final picture of the desk in all it's glory (chair included)...
and here's his reaction...
(He arrived early at the office and it was my colleague that helped me with it that took these pictures; I even brought my camera in to get video as well for you all but the whole carpets-being-cleaned-come-in-late-thing didn't quite work! Ah well, all's good! He's doing his best to work with it all wrapped up until the worldwide boss comes to the offices on Friday )

He's gone away again for his annual pilgrimage and we were ummming and arrring about doing something else, but we just didn't know what.
Remove everything and replace his workstation with filing cabinets. When he returns pretend not to know who he is and have him ejected from the building

When I saw the pics on the first page my immediate though was oh no they've only went and wrapped that dude's office AGAIN!
We've considered doing it this year - he goes away on boxing day for 4 weeks (trekking in a similar way that he did last time). However, mood of the company is very different now from then.
I love the aluminium foil desk above - that's superb!
It surprised me too that this was originally done in 2005 !!
I've brought it upon myself and will now never be able to not do it

For some people the first time you see the Coke advert means Christmas, for some it is when you watch The Snowman, but here it is when TonyH bumps the wrapping thread.
Feeling slightly more festive now.
