So I had to send this email (more or less... slightly edited to remove personal things) today:

Email to moron said:
I won't get into a debate here, given my experience on Thursday. So take the advice or ignore it. But I'm right and I'm telling you this cause you're a nice guy, just dreadfully naive. You left your email logged on [a system I have access to] today and before I realised that I ended up accidentally reading a bit of your email. There's at least one person on a dating site (or something) that has contacted you and you've been in touch with. She's making the whole thing up. It's actually some bloke in nigeria who is there to steal your money. It's bullst. "She" doesn't exist.
Why oh why are people this thick? I actually want to punch the person I sent this to, it's the latest in a long line of things where I've had to rescue them from themselves... and they're not a relative or friend... it terrible... I need a hug...

You don't understand the situation.

The guy is so strange yet hasn't a bad bone in his body. Taking advantage of him is kicking a puppy.

Put it this way, he's been sacked twice, firstly as someone doing a job, and secondly as someone doing that job for himself but as a client, and we still let him in the office. On no pay.

It's just desperately sad.

Wtf does he do if he comes and sits in an office he's been sacked from twice as an employee AND client, to do it all again for nothing?

F*ck me sounds like his money would be best off in Nigeria!
Well he is here on a visa. He's back to China by February. Unless he gets a job, which no one with any sense is going to give him, first.

So he's essentially killing time.

Yes in a sense his money would be best off in Nigeria. He started out trading company money, then moved onto trading his own money with us as a broker. We couldn't ethically keep on accepting his money as that given he was just spunking it all, so he's now moving to trade an account with IG Index. In a real trading office. He'll lose it all but at least he'll lose it slower (we hope).

This is a guy who'd never seen a bald fanny. A lad who is practically blind without spectacles. Someone who... god, I'd better not go on... I doubt anyone would believe it... frown

I work with a guy who thinks one kg of one substance could weigh more that one kg of another substance.
It could, if one substance was on the moon and one was on the earth wink

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Except for the bit about him doing work. Well, he isn't doing any work to benefit us, anyway.

Crazy, innit.

Would you have security escort a puppy off the premises?

Edit: This is one of the best things about working here. Tremendous loyalty from everyone to everyone else. But it leads to this sort of absurdity.

This probably sounds racist, but the mental issues are mostly due to being chinese and over parented... we think...

Edit: Just looked more closely. Yes he's being detrimental. Was seriously annoying me today... bobbing around like a five year old... But I can tolerate it

Has no one sat him down and told him that he doesn't work there anymore? :/ very odd
It sounds like he is using their systems to do his personal trading (I assume he is FSA registered given that he traded for them, if not all that well, so he's not a complete moron) so that's not too silly either, as long as he has access to their Bloomberg/Reuters etc.

I also assume that he has few/no friends or family here so he has nothing else to do.
This is a fair summary... however you don't need to be FSA registered to trade company money, so I'm afraid it doesn't rule out complete idiocy!

He hasn't turned up yet... nor have I a reply to that email... will let you know when I know anything...

Turned up eventually. He's claiming he knew it was a scam all along. The evidence suggests otherwise but if it stops him from losing "face"... w/e... at least no one hurt smile

Now happy to be punting 10p a point on IG Index. That doomed as well but what can you do

Technically he's right. Put 1kg of feathers in a sphere, and 1kg of bricks in a sphere.

Think about the implications of that (hint:feathers sphere will be bigger)

Edit: P.S. Have a vid of the subject of this thread trying to make a phone call which I put on youtube yesterday to show some people. Should I link it?
