Aye to no hunger!

That said, I tried a 14 hour fast again today just "because". You get used to that hungry feeling!
I wish I could do that. Hunger really makes me grumpy and I know in work my mental capacity (or what there is of it) is reduced, I find it harder to think through the problems I'd normally not have a problem with. I suspect this is due to a lack of focus because of my rumbling stomach! I also start to feel sick after about 1/2 a day if I don't eat.

Still for those that can hack it, I think it seems to work very well.

So the way I approach training now is using periodisation, i.e. I do periods of high reps/drop sets and periods of strength training.

This is my take on talking to people about lifting.

Yep! I say ignore the scales and look at the mirror and/or your belt holes.
Agreed.

I think measuring weight for folks who are doing weight training is quite pointless.

If you are in a high tech gym they may have some sophisticated equipment or calipers to measure bodyfat with.

Personally I use pictures and body measurements, although calipers are obviously more accurate.

I like body measurements as it shows when muscles are growing and I like pictures as I find the changes to be motivating.

It has been a bit quiet here of late!

I've been super busy at work and now trying to prepare for Christmas so I've not contributed like I would usually.

I'm doing well and seem to be gaining muscle very easily at the moment although some of that is due to a lack of training and going backwards over some months previously I think.
