Don't know how well this will go down but (especially for me biggrin) I think we need a thread that we can post offers on supplements for the people of PH to take advantage of.
Ill start the thread off even though this offer is currently out of stock. 8kg monster matrix http://www.supplementcentre.com/ProductPage/13070/...
It's also on offer at £49.99 from the matrix website

It is just far too cheap in all honesty. It has got alot of bad reviews on a bodybuilding forum I'm also on.
Fair enough, I think ill just get a whey protein instead and use food for carbs

What about instant oats from my protein?

10 quid for 5kg
Hate oats, well cant stand eating them. Normally have it with milk and warm it but don't like taste. Started a topic elsewhere about bulk buying pasta which is what im doing at the moment. Might have to look into recipes (sp?) For making oats nice smile
ETA would they go well in a protein shake?

Instant oats are not really like normal oats at all. They thicken a shake and give it a sweet oaty !, taste. Really nice.

As a general rule, if it's cheap and not a trusted brand, it's ste. I've been caught out with a few 'bargains' before, learned my lesson.
Yes normally true, a whey protein is fine though is it not? Same product in the end just different addatives such as l glutamine etc

In a sense, whey protein is whey protein. It has been known for companies to greatly exaggerate the % volume of protein per 100g though. So when you think you're taking 30g, and you're actually taking 10g.
Can they do that? The matrix stuff is 24g per roughly 45g scoop. 10kg for £75 is a bargain really. Normally £10 per kilo on most wheys

They can't, but it has happened. There was a big hoo haa earlier this year because a company got called, and caught out. Can't remember who it was though...?
Ooo right. Ill take a gamble with this matrix stuff in new year; unless something cheaper comes along. Atleast reviews look ok for it. Can't be any worse than the amount of money ive blown trying pre workouts etc that don't work for me frown

Best pre workout is caffeine. Very cheap and is the main contributing factor in most pre-workouts. TBF I've never heard of matrix. I've been soley a MP person since 2007, but in the last 18 months their prices have been going up and up so I might jump ship soon.
Due to vat, and no I hadnt until someone on facebook was on about it. Yeh caffeine is all well and good but addictive biggrin
If relentless wasn't so expensive id be on it non stop. Cheap stuff is good too but like marmite amongst brands. What do you pay with MP at the moment?
The % of protein may be higher per scoop than this cheap matrix. Its around 55% protein per 45g scoop. It may be cheaper to get the more expensive stuff due to % content. If you get me smile

I get unflavoured whey, something like £40 for 5kg. It's the other stuff that got very expensive, like the bars.

Caffeine is best and cheapest pure. You can buy 200 pills for for £8. They're 200mg each (about 2.5 redbulls). So work out at 4pence a serving. But yes you're right, it can be addictive.
Jeesus! Is there any bad side affects to that much?
£40 for 5kg is good ill look into that. Why don't you make protein flapjacks? Easy and cheap to do

That's a pretty low percentage of protein for whey - you should be getting 75%+ really. Makes me wonder what else they're bulking it out with. The ingredients list sucralose for one so you've got an artificial sweetener in there.

If you compare to my protein impact whey you're getting it slightly cheaper (£37.50 vs £46 per 5 kg) but you're getting less actual protein, and less servings. If you use a 30g serving on MP you get the same 24g of protein as with 45g of the matrix. So you're getting half as many servings again of MP for a mere £8.50 extra, better value for sure.

Also looking at the matrix protein there's a hell of a lot of carbs in there, 11g per serving - presumably being used to bulk up the powder.
True, i think ill use mp if no offers turn up in new year

No bad side effects at that dose at all, I went through a period of doubling to 400mg. You can safley take up to around 10mg/kg of bodyweight, which is a lot - about 10 redbulls for me (800mg). I was taking caffeine for about 3-4 months non stop and did experience a headache for about 3 days when I came off. Just shows I had become a little dependant on it.

The reason I don't make my own is because I'm too lazy! Should look into it though, would save me money.
Fair enough, I'd only use it on training days so 4x a week

Not really a deal as such but www.goldstandardnutrition.co.uk is a website I highly recommend if you want chicken without the fuss of cooking. Free delivery on orders of 4 packets of chicken I think. £17 each when you buy 4. £18 if you buy 2 or £19 a packet on its own. MP Fit gym in birstall is a stockist and has it at £17 per packet if you can collect
