Setting myself a goal; to lift a combined weight of 1,000lbs (454kgs) in the big three - Deadlift, Squat & Bench Press. Likely split to be something like 180DL, 160Sq & 115BP. Provisional target date will be end of next year 24 December 2014.

A very long way short at the moment and maybe a little old to start, but what the heck. If I don't try I certainly won't make it. biggrin

Anyone here lifting these weights anyway?

For me it's just a round figure target.
If/when it's achieved maybe next goal will be 500kgs.

FTR I'm currently 82kgs but in order to achieve 1,000lbs I suspect I'll have to add at least 10-20kgs of muscle.
Won't know till I get there - way short now, effectively day zero.

Best way to sort our sparrow legs is more squats.
I am similarly affected, or was. A few years squatting even at my age has made a massive difference. I'm not even lifting heavy either - 1RM a few years ago was 145kgs. I was rather 'larger' then though at 100kgs.

All joking apart, we have some strong lifters here. clap

All the more incentive for me to join your club.

I'll be doing some measurements and sums this weekend to work out how and when I should be able to join you.

Great work and nice bump. thumbup
Seriously impressive gains.

I'm two months in and still a long way off but progressing slowly.

Calculated 1RM based on current 5x5 lifts:

Deadlift 145kg
Squat 120kg
Bench press 82kg
Total: 347kg (760lb)

(76%)

Ah. Deads are an exception with SL5x5 - 1x5 only.
120 flew up last time I did them and plenty left over but that was with straps which I don't use ordinarily, nor do I intend to in the near future.

I did have Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan off frown (work)

Finding 70kgs ain't easy.
Again, some serious increases there dude. Especially in less than five months. bow

When you consider so many at most gyms keep lifting the same old weights and reps, effectively getting nowhere, this progress is impressive.

I'm gonna start lifting again. Never be what I used to be but threads like this make me envious.
Ditto.

I packed in all training in January; just getting back in to it.
I'll be starting with Wendler's 5/3/1 - it's worked for me in the past.
