Horrific toothache
Discussion
So, I've done 10 500mg paracetamol tablets today, and don't want to take anymore. The tooth is killing me. Can't sleep (00:10 here) and recently opened a cheeky red with the thought that it might help me sleep. It hasn't.
Would taking a few more pills hurt? Or should I crack on with the bottle? 12 hours before I can see the dentist.
I've not known pain like it, and I've been in pain before.

At least tou have more pills!
Honestly, this is bloody awful. Now 01:10, half a bottle down, and no change in circumstances.
Oh, did I mention that my sat tv isn't working, the Mrs is sick, the boy was a huge PITA today, only 1 dog wet out for a walk (long story) and I've only got 5 smokes left.
If I thought it would solve the problem, I'd knock it out myself.

Paracetamol is useless for toothache. Don't take any more or your liver will fall out. Maybe. Definately don't drink alcohol or your liver WILL fall out. Google liver failure. It's a horrible way to die. Keep your mouth rinsed out with warm water and salt. It'll help the pain temporarily. See a dentist as soon as. Last thing you want is an infection. It spreads through your jaw, up into the back of your eye... Nasty. If you really must be a bh and have drugs, sniff out some Tramadol. Codeine is bliss. Watch though, it's addictive.
Good luck
Just found 2 Panadol Day Cold and Flu. They had to be done. Left the wine now. Good luck
I fear it is an infection as my whole jaw hurts. The tooth in question is a crown, so not a hole or a bit of decay. Feck me, this is not funny.
Forgot the 3 other injections they gave as the tramodol didn't work....at first. I currently have a memory span of 10 minutes and keep forgetting what day it is!
Hiya Rach, not been as my dentist isn't working until tomorrow, plus I was hoping the antibiotics will clear-up any infection.

Just an update.
A&E sent me home with a load of pills and antibiotics. These had little effect.
Went to the dentist Sunday, and he x-rayed and showed me the worst tooth & gum infection he's seen in quite a while. He drilled holes in 2 teeth (no injections due to the infection/swelling) to relieve the pressure. 2 minutes later the pain went from 10 to a 7.
He gave me strong painkillers and bad-buoy antibiotics.
Back tomorrow for a root canal.
Honestly folks, get a slight twinge anywhere, get straight to the dentist. Don't feck around thinking it will go with painkillers of vino...it won't!
Thanks for listening.

i've had this three times, in absolute agony all 3 times. there is just no real form of relief from the pain until the tooth gets drilled and the pressure gets released.
one of the infections on a tooth near the front had caused the gum to properly swell up, the dentist was worried drilling the tooth could have caused it to burst, so sad he could cut the gum, but this might be sore. i didnt feel a thing, but the instant relief when he cut the gum was amazing. this lasted about a second until i was nearly sick because of the smell!! i felt very sorry for the dentist and his assistants having to deal with that.
