The 21 year old son of my best mate has just been diagnosed with Leukaemia. A wonderful boy with everything to live for.

The diagnosis was 5 days ago, already he's had 2 blood transfusions.

He has asked everyone he knows to become a Blood Donor.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Poor lad is having his sperm frozen today in readiness for chemo.

Not good news today I'm afraid. A routine heart scan prior to chemo picked up a life threatening blood clot on his left ventricle. Has been transferred to Kings London.

No, no real news at the moment. Popped in to see his grandparents this morning, unsurprisingly they are not in a good place and very worried.

Poor lad is feeling a bit cut off from the world in Kings, apparently very on/off web/phone connectivity for some reason. Plus of course being 70 odd miles from home it makes visiting harder for everyone.

I believe he's due for another heart scan today to try and deal with this blood clot.

Just heard from my pal. The combination of the boys heart issue and the leukaemia is causing some head scratching. Guys Hosp have never seen it before and, apparently, only a handful of cases have ever been recorded globally. So chemo is on hold still.
