Just keeping this separate from the other drinking thread...
I am going to stay dry through September on order to save some money and to try an loose a couple of kg to buy some new bike wheels and to get to a racing weight.
Anyone else fancy joining me?
I managed dry January but an evening beer, especially when working away, has become a bit too routine.
I'll keep this thread updated with progress!

Well today's the day!
I prepared last night by ensuring that we have fresh bread and milk so that I don't have to pop to the shop tonight and pass the 3 bottles of ale for £5 shelf. I also did all the ironing as I usually have a beer to get me through the basket of creased shirts.
I fitted all my winter lights to the bike too so that I can go for a ride this evening - to take my mind off not drinking and then have a piece of cake and a cup of tea when I get back.

I'm in Aberdeen at the moment! Might go to the cinema tonight.
I am offshore at the start of October for a week so will definitely extend my abstinence to my return - no choice but to be dry there!
If I include the wine or gin I would normally get my wife to drink whilst I chug my mugs (she's dry this month too), I reckon I've saved £240 so far this month. That's almost a set of Fulcrum Racing 3 wheels
