Looking for any ideas / input - with two young kids and a busy job the most convenient time for me to exercise is early in the AM and I've no problem at all in terms of getting up and getting on with it. However the problem I have is that if I exercise early on then it often leaves me feeling some combination of tired/grumpy through the day and often seems to impair my concentration whereas if I exercise later on in the day I don't get these effects. I'm sure I'm well enough hydrated. Any ideas? Could it be resolved through eating the right things before / after exercise? Or do I just need to accept that early AM exercise isn't feasible for me? Many thanks for all replies.

Thanks all. Tried it for a reasonable period of time. Was eating porridge afterwards. Perhaps need something different?

Could you cycle to work? It's often as quick and it's effectively "free" exercise as you don't have to allocate any extra time for it.

Thanks. I'm doing intervals on the tread mill plus light weights. I'll try a bit more fat and protein
