Cold sores

So I have got my first coldsore and its really pissing me off.

I am not in pain or anything but I have some cream that is supposed to sort it by drying it out like any other cream does. Only problem is that when it dries, it cracks and bleeds as soon as I move my lips in anyway other than a light conversation.

Any tips/ideas welcome.
