55 years old, never had a problems with the waterworks before, but today I went for a pee and got the usual strong gush, for about five seconds, then some pain inside and it stopped flowing. I was sure I needed to pee more, but nothing would happen.

I've been working hard outside in the sun all day, sweating like a pig, not drinking much, so I'm hoping it is just that. Also been drinking a lot too much beer and coffee recently too.

I've had about ten large glasses of water in the last 6 hours, had three 'short' pees, shut off abruptly, but don't feel the need to go at the moment.

Am I just dried out, or is there something more sinister going on?

I know I need to see a doc if it carries on, but I live in the Philippines, (hence the sweating) and I have reservations about the healthcare....

Thanks for the suggestions, I've been doing the usual 'worse case scenario', as we always do. I've drunk three more glasses of water, some cranberry, but still don't feel the need to pee. Wife says I must be very dehydrated, the amount I've been sweating, and the beer and coffee I have been sucking down recently.

I'll see what happens on the morrow, and report back. 9pm here local time.

Relief, just had a couple of perfectly normal pees. Bit of a wake up call, people have told me for years too much beer and coffee is not good, and I'm not getting any younger......

I knew I didn't have the big C, as I have regular blood tests for something else and it would show up there as a major red flag. I got rid of my symptoms by purely cutting down a bit on my coffee intake as it was getting a bit out of control. I'm 50 too so was a little concerned.

Hope that helps. smile
I tend to drink too much beer, then guzzle coffee all next day trying to clear my mead. Okay when you're 30, but not when you're 55......

I'm having a cup of ginger tea this morning instead of my usual first coffee.

Well, time has passed and I'm still pissing like a good 'un. I think it was a lot of dehydration mixed with too much beer and coffee. Fingers crossed, because it was truly a horrible sensation at the time.biggrin

Sorry to have hijacked your thread, just got side tracked. wink
No worries mate, sounds like you have worse problems than worrying about hijacking. I had the 'finger up bum' check once, about ten years ago, but people in some circles say we guys over 50 should have it once a year. I can't bring myself to volunteer for it though.....
