Alternative to enema for colonoscopy?

Hi All,

I had haemerrhoids last year which was treated by sclerotherappy.


Looks like they've returned and I've got the ball rolling to address this again.


However, the worst thing was the enema, which hurted like hell. Is there an alternative to an enema? In addition, I went to the loo and had nothing to eat after, when I had the treatment done, so all that came out was watr!

I thought laxative would be one?

Would I need an enema if I use the loo before I go anyway? It was pointless last time.
