As discussed in the Phat Fighters thread - there is talk of a Q1 challenge to scoop up people in need of a kick to get going or maybe wanting to keep going.
Proposal:
Starting Weight - Jan 1
Final weigh in - April 1
Winner is the person who loses the most weight as a percentage of their starting weight
The losing participants will pay £1 per kg that they have lost to a charity of the winners choice.
It's that simple....
Who's in? I'll keep a tally here
- (the amount of the donation is discretionary really, but I think the spirit of the competition demands a little something at least)

Guys
I will leave a fully up dated table on page 1 so you know where to look for the latest and will update during the thread as we go as well if anyone wants a track record.
to keep it simple I will try and update it every week rather than daily - this way we also see some decent consistent drops rather than fluctuation.
Please feel free to post weight in the mean time - but aside from new members and those who have yet to add a starting weight, I will be updating the table for individuals once every 7 days (I am not going to demand updates on the 7th/14th etc - but would be nice if everyone manages to get something in around then - for mutual support/light competition.
Next update 7th.

- whilst I am with mcelliot on this one broadly, so would prefer to keep the whole thing as a straight 3 month run - it is easy enough to sort out on a week by week basis and put it in whatever order people want.
Though surely you are going to start going through lopping limbs off if you want to lose a lot?! You are the lightest here by a clear 33% on the next group!

I'm in...
Currently 95kg
Target is 85kg
1 month of business travel then 1 month of Christmas festivities have made the number go up.
Made it to the Gym this evening and had the weigh in.
Also - Going for Dry January and giving up a very small Cig habit at the end of this packet.
Not too much of a challenge then.
It's pointless spending money to take weight out of the Mustang when I'm contributing an extra 10kg to the total, should help the track days this year.
That's my logic too! It's all very well spending money on racing seats for the hill climb car when I am 15 kg north of proper! Currently 95kg

Also well done Tin Robot - early leader in the club house. I am on half a pound so far!
Cycles to the satiation today. A LONG way from
The heady days of 20 mph averages - 15 mph, weak as a kitten and dark, cold and lonely.
At least I was out there I suppose. Off for a run tomorrow and all....

106.8kg (30.9% bodyfat) although my scales can go up for down a few % each day.
It's never too late! We never leave anyone behind on this thread.106.8kg (30.9% bodyfat) although my scales can go up for down a few % each day.
Cycled yesterday and went for the first run in years at lunch. 3.2 miles in an agonising 40 minutes.
Have used the excuse to have a nice bit of soup and couple of chacutrie rolls on wholemeal bread. Still have 1000 calories in the bag for dinner on that basis. Spiffy.
My hurdle will be discipline. As said above, its about being sensible rather than full on monk like self denial.
The thing is, and I know people will say 'it does no nutritional good, its empty calories...etc etc
The thing is, I LIKE pizza, I LIKE biscuits. I drink red wine because it is really nice.
I just need to get in to the mindset that it is a treat, not everyday. Which is I think where I fall down usually.
rest day and sensible eating tomorrow. Then on Saturday I will do 90-100 minutes on the bike - so that's 900-1000 calories. So I will stop off at my favourite local coffee shop and have an Americano (fortunately black is my preference so no denial there) and their lovely meaty breakfast bap - which I have been having impure thoughts about all week. (It's run by a recently retired professional rugby player, so whilst its not exactly a salad its not as damaging as it sounds)
So that's my nice treat.

I think the issue for me is - and I need to find a happy middle ground really - is that I can't get into the mind set of seeing food simply as fuel.
Scrap that - I won't see food simply as fuel and none of you bds can make me
I am afraid I like things like biscuits, pizza and all that kerfuffle. I see people on here (the wider forum rather than the thread)saying stuff like, its all empty calories and what nutrition is there etc and I just think 'oh do stop being so tedious and mechanical (sorry).
Yes wine is empty calories - but it is also nice
However.....I have turned into an over-weight tub-monster and need to accept that these must be in moderation. I will still have my treats and will still enjoy them and I will still have an occasional takeaway because fk yeah, that's why
I was going to say that I wish I could be like J4CKO and just be happy to look at it all like that - but that would be a fib. (In no way having a go at you by the way, happy days that you have gotten into a groove you like).
Can you tell I have been musing on the subject a lot this week!
Anyway - will be accepting new weights from tonight - sounds like people have gotten off to a flyer

I was really very cross indeed last night. I'm feeling a bit more cheerful now.
I need to get back into exercise. My legs hurt like hell from my first proper run in years on Thursday (3 miles) on Thursday - after years of only doing cycling really (I don't like running - I find it tedious I'm afraid).
I also note a lot of people talking about eggs....which I really wish I liked. Unfortunately I detest them - I think I should qualify for disability living allowance based on the fact!
Anyway....Christmas weight starting to fall off.
90.25kg
