I need new glasses as mine are so scratched I can barely see through them! I've converted to contacts, so only really use glasses a couple of days a week.

I've used Vision Express for my eye tests, but glasses there are very expensive. I've looked at Pretavoir and the glasses I want, including 1.67 lenses are only £150! However, I'm somewhat worried by online purchasing as I can't get my PD from Vision Express.

I'm a little tempted to use the opticians in John Lewis, as they have what I want, but are £230. Cheaper than Vision Express, but significantly more than buying online.

Where do you get your glasses from?

Local opticians - but I'd say the prices you've quoted were cheap.
I am only looking for basic frames, and my prescription isn't too bad (-4.00). Prices above are for basic RayBans and 1.67 lenses. Better frames would obviously be far more!

For your pd ask the person that did your eye test to measure it.
Vision Express won't give it out as it's not part of a prescription.

I noticed that, in part is it to sabotage you going else where for glasses?
Almost certainly.

It just means I will go elsewhere for everything now though, and never use them again.

I tried out John Lewis Opticians. So far the experience is a good one, and much better than Vision Express ever was. Prices seem good too.

It's Luxottica really though.

They have Lindberg frames too, which are highly appealing, but a little beyond my price range frown
