Hi guys, just wondering if I could pick your collective brains:

I've decided to sell my 2012 Evora S in the Spring. It's been an absolute blast, by far the best car I've ever driven, but I'm heading Stateside at some point, so I need to start downsizing in advance.

Would Pistonheads be the best place to advertise it, or are there any other avenues that might realise me more cash or reach a wider audience? I've discounted Autotrader due to the many tales I've heard of sellers being harassed by telesales and scammers.

Don't fear, I'll probably go for another Evora or V6 Exige in the States!! Am praying the Pound keeps rising!

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info, I've always viewed Pistonheads as the premier UK sports car website, so that part is a no brainer, will also look at SELOC.

Do you guys agree with my assessment of Autotrader? What about Top Marques?

The car is 2+2, starlight black and paprika with all 3 packs, 20 inch diamond cut alloys, pretty much every option except IPS and it's not an MY12 interior. It does have the MY12 clutch improvement though and folding door mirrors! FLSH and 24K miles, used as a daily driver, so all niggles sorted and not lurking as they might in a hardly used car.

Nearly £60K, two years ago, I was thinking of £42,500 or thereabouts.

Any thoughts?

I'm a bit reluctant to go the dealer route as I'm not part-exing for anything else. Might save that for a last resort.

I suppose I could give AT a go. And just ignore the telesales...

Thanks for the tips...

You could well be right, but the car is still a year younger than 2011 models and I'd be open to offers...

Mine has the MY12 cables fitted. Also, Newcastle seem to specialise in unusual colours - they had a metallic burnt orange one that seemed to hang around for ages. That one looks a bit 'feminine' for my taste.

Maybe I should get a firm offer from a dealer and then try to better it privately with the dealer as the fallback option.

I think the standard Lotus warranty is 3 years, so 1 year remaining.

Thanks again guys for the info.

I'll certainly follow up some of your leads when I'm ready to sell. Also useful to hear what concerns a potential private buyer would have.
