How do, Bit of a long shot here.

Thinking of buying an Evora S but i'd like to confirm that it will actually get on my drive. Moved house in August last year to a house with a nice big double garage but one thing i didn't think of checking was the slope up of the path to the down slope of the drive to the garage. My lowered S2000 manages it if i drive on to it at an angle but will bottom out if i try straight on.

I had a look at the nearest Lotus dealer but i think the salemans thought i was just a window shopper and wouldn't let me take an S out just a standard version but the "boss" would be driving, unless i was going to be buying one. They didn't have an S in my prefered colours so it was a no go there.

So is there anybody with one any where near Chester Le Street that wouldn't mind coming over and seeing if they will get on to the drive?

TIA

Because i'd rather make sure it can get on to my drive and therefore in to the garage before i test drove one.

I wouldn't let them bottom out, i'd watch it to see if it was going to and tell them to stop if it looked like it would. rolleyes

The dealer would only let me take a car out if i was seriously looking at buying it, they didnt have an S in the prefered colours i wanted so there was no point in trying to persude him otherwise.

I thought i'd ask in here as an off chance, Guess the S2000 and Aston forum are a lot friendlier.

Of all the Lotii I have owned the Evora is most tolerant to steep drives so I would be very surprised if you had a problem.

For me its not about being friendly its about if a guy or girl is serious, you've been to a dealer if you said this is the price this is the colour and I will buy one I suspect the dealer would oblige but a random posting gone midnight saying your local dealer has turned you down doesn't bode well..... but if you serious and talk with the dealer I suspect he would help and why not join seloc and ask there for a local club.....and here is another link http://www.clublotus.co.uk/clubregions.aspx
Dealer was told the price limit and the 2 colours i was interested in, they didn't have these colours in stock, i asked about taking a different colour out and the salesman said the boss would be the only one driving after he got back from lunch and they only do test drives if a person is looking at buying that car.

Im sorry if im looking at spending 45-50k on a car i want to be the one driving.

Maybe it is just this salesman/dealers but it left me unimpressed so far.

Cheers for the info EuropaSman. That drive looks about the same incline as mine but mine is going down hill with the path infront of it on an up hill incline making it like a big speedbump.

Hey Euan byebye Long time fella.

My S2000 is lowered on Eibachs about 25-30mm, its fine on speed bumps in the village i live and the ones that are a big block on each lane i can straddle over them no problems at all.

But on the Jock hoon i did with Beardie, Oss and Doug it got a fair bit of arch liner rubbing on the front wheels, where as Beardie following said he would prepare for the bump/bottoming out that we just had but he never got. driving

No, driveway modification has just been limited to widening either side to allow 2 cars to park side by side with a decent gap between them and a path on either side. Too busy renovating/refurbishing the entire house inside and out and sorting out the over grown 4 gardens.
