Gearlink upgrade

I know you can retrofit MY12 gear cables to earlier cars, but does anyone know if the 400 gear link mech can be retrofitted to earlier models too?

There is another possible option for series 1 cars. Alitech from Silvertone have developed a new gear change for the Elise and may be developing one for the Evora. Their Elise version is an impressive exo skeleton affair crafted in alloy but they are considering something for the Evora that fits within the Center tunnel trim.

Mated to the MY12 cables this may give a much improved change to the earlier cars.

One advantage of their Elise changer is that it is adjustable for throw and positioning.

Silverstone Lotus are talking to Alitech to help develop this option. Hopefully there will be some news in the next few months?
