I thought of this a while ago and thought it might be worth a shot

A lot of the regulars in here will know that some of the club threads have been a bit...testing at times for us as well as the Mods

Now I just love football, I will watch as many games as I can whether they involve my club or not and then generall have Soccer Saturday on and MOTD (God knows why my OH agreed to marry me)

Anyway I thought we could have a thread in here akin to 'The Thread' and also the Trivia thread in The Lounge, where anyone can discuss any clubs or any transfers, special goals, etc

This might ease the load on some other threads and allow the fans of those clubs to regain some form of interest and ownership as well as giving other fans whose threads aren't exactly busy somewhere to natter about stuff

We would have to agree though (and this would need checking with the mods) that any trangressions that have seen bans before, result in a ban from the whole football forum (as I think this might be punishment enough to make people behave)

We could perhaps also apoint a thread MOD (who isnt actually a mod but who could and would be encouraged to hit the report button if required to take a load off the mods) I am not sugessting this be me, I do have someone in mind but the mods would need to agree and he would have to be asked

What do you guys think?

I think you've been banned from the Utd thread and don't want to spend your time living in the Liverpool and Spud threads.

Am I warm?
hehe

Nah not massively, I am quite happy in them and I can still read the UTD threads, this is a genuine effort to allow you guys and the spuds to have more team focussed threads whilst allowing everyone else just to natter about all things football without upsetting applecarts

I didn't think it was going to be the first reply, but I knew someone was going to say it.

Anyway, I think it's a good idea. I'm off to Fratton Park tomorrow, possibly the sttest ground in the land!
Fratton Park, thats Portsmouth isnt it?

I had a mate who lived there and he was slating it then, that was nigh on 10 years ago, guessing they haven't improved it?

I think it's a very good idea fwiw.
thumbup

So should I give the mods a heads up now? Or shall we just let it grow organically and try and self moderate?

This seems like a good idea but it only takes one little comment and it'll all kick off
This is very true, which is why I think if you become a regular poster in here you by proxy agree if you get binned from this thread you get binned from the football forum as a whole

It is indeed, we're playing them. The last time I went they wouldn't let us out the ground and shut the toilets so there were loads of people pissing up the back of the stand. Lovely.
Oh nice!!!

OK.... Who was the last team to win the Premier league without a "bought team"? Not sure how to quantify "bought", but perhaps, more than half of their first eleven came through the academy.
And who was the team before that?
I know this would be a typical answer from me but I think the 92/93 Utd team (I think those are the years)

Yes we spent but the core of that team came through our academy

Not sure I think Liverpool had a good youth setup in the 80's did they not?

there's to much been said between "them".
I'm really not sure how I'd feel so I'll reserve judgement until it happens- if in fact it ever does.
I don't think Mancini can LET it happen can he?

hehe Not a bad article to be fair, quite amusing oh and

And that’s the thing. Ferguson could personally massacre every first-born in the Greater Manchester area and United fans would respond with something along the lines of: “What an innovative response to population growth.”

Just been catching up on MOTD

Thought Spuds were unlucky, happy to see them drop points though

So happy to see Scholesy score, Wellbeck looks better and better each game and Toni had a fantastic game I rate hime much much higher than Nani

Thought Sunderland could and would nick a point there, interesting to see something resembling the Torres of old on the pitch

I would like to see Man Utd put in a bid for Luis Suarez.

Recent events make this highly unlikely, but he would do well for us up front.

Very well.

Score a plenty.
Bit early to be drinking isnt it?

I can see he is definitely a player but I personally wouldnt like to see him at Utd too many wasted chances beside Wellbeck and Hernandez will in time be better I think
