What's going on with this game?........

I am not a dedicated football fan and I am certainly not "trolling" this post.
As football enthusiasts, can you guys enlighten me as to what is going on with the game?
I'm looking at the past month, where we have seen the remaining English teams knocked out of all European competitions.
The Premier League, the best in the world? really?
Going back 3 or 4 weeks, there was a MUFC European game. I watched some of it. I have to say, I was amazed and disgusted at the level of cheating/feigning/play acting going on. Is that the norm now?
Furthermore, in the same week (I think) there was a story about managers having to be separated on the side line.
Then there's the racism/sexism/homophobia that's been whipped up in the last 3 or 4 weeks.
Not really sure how the game can sort itself out, but I do feel it needs to.

Although Wayne did fall over when there was nobody near him last weekend but that was his rather funny goal scoring celebration.
We all moan & groan about the game but we just cannot get enough of it & everyone who's in the game & runs the game know's it. I think it's a case of put up with it or don't watch it.

As for "can't get enough of it", I'm not so sure. I've had enough of the play acting and theatrics. I know it's not all matches, but essentially, the game is riddled with players trying to cheat, hood wink and con the referee and supporters.
Why is this accepted by the fans and supporters? I don't get it.
