The Official Swansea City Thread
Discussion
Seeing as there seem to be a few of us on the Championship thread, and seeing as we are pushing for promotion to the promised land, why the hell not start a thread for the Wonderful Whites?!
8 games to go, Norwich being the big 6 pointer. Can we do it? Never has it been a more exciting time to be a Swans fan.
In Brendan's army I believe!!

Me too, I was just a young lad in the Jan Molby / Nick Cusack days.
Seen so many players come and go over the years, but it beggars belief that the likes of Tate, Britton and Monk have seen it at the bottom and now potentially might see it at the top!
Heard on the grapevine that Brendan is looking to get Danny Rose in on loan:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Rose
Another speedy-Gonzales ala Nath Dyer.
Personally, I think we need to get another defensive rock in to cover the back four - a shame the David Edgar loan did not go through. Williams looks a bit knackered...

The Nur here, checking in. Swans n00b if I am honest, lived in Swansea all my life but never really been into football, getting more and more interested over the last few seasons. Now they are looking to be in the best position for years I am finding it all rather infectious!
TBH, I was waiting for an official Swans thread to start up

You may find your blood pressure rises being a Swans fan - enjoy the ride!

Hi there, good to see a Swans thread start up.
I'm a Yeovil fan and our paths have crossed many times over the years. First game my twin sons saw was a win over the Jacks at Huish Park; remember playing you and losing 3-2 and the fans coming back about 9pm to join a queue that had formed for Liverpool FA Cup tickets... some people were out their house for 24 hours that day; Trundle scoring that unbelievable volley past Chris Weale at the Liberty one night... ah good times.
Selfishly, I'd like yo to get promoted this season as one of our best players, Shaun MacDonald is on loan at Huish Park. He's been fantastic for us in all his loan spells and off the pitch, he's brilliant with the media. He's with us as he's not in Brendan Rogers' plans so if you go up, maybe he'll come to us permanently.
Good luck anyway, hope you go up!

Shaun Mac is an interesting one.
All reports suggest that he is a Welsh Zidane on the training ground and playing for the reserves. He never seemed to cut it when given the chance in the first team though - must be a confidence thing. Great to see him enjoying his football at Yeovil though.
Trundle - cast iron legend.
Glad Scotty got through unscathed!
Priskin is an interesting one. Rodgers is clearly setting his stall out and saying he wants unlimited fire power in the run-up.
But what impact on the likes of Moore / Beattie who are dropping down the pecking order? Moore is presumably an investment in the future?
What it does signal is a vote of confidence in the back four. I would have liked some cover to be honest - all we need is for Monky and Taylor to aggravate their last injuries and we are in trouble.

Struggling to bring myself to post today following Saturday's defeat. Awful goals conceded and we missed the Dobster for that attacking nouse.
To be fair, Preston are a form team at the moment but you have to ask yourself whether we are ready for the Premiership if we don't have the steel to grind out at least a point away at the bottom club.
Norwich on the other hand showed us how it should be done. Very concerned that we are going to get a thumping on Saturday - they are unbeaten in 18 or something?
ETA - I heard a rumour that Beattie sat on the team bus for half an hour, presumably sulking as a result of not being picked for the final teamsheet? Anyone else heard this? Could have contributed to the uncharacteristic attitude on the pitch....

Is there anything more frustrating than being a Swans fan?!!
How can we beat Norwich 3-0 on Saturday then stutter to a draw with Hull on Tuesday? We needed three points last night as we are now under pressure to get results away.....which we won't.
Everyone makes mistakes, and last night Brendan did. Why the hell did he not bring Pratley and Britton on for Allen and Dobbie to break up the midfield?? Allen is knackered and Dobbie seems to be lacking fitness - he also could not hit a barn-door with a banjo last night - 4 or 5 shots all within the penalty box put wide.
Gower is the man.

I'll drink to that. I really have no idea how this is going to pan out.. Nervous.
Indeed. Both teams are on a rich vein of form leading into the playoffs. We are not particularly good at shutting up shop so hoping Rodgers goes for it at the City Ground - but nervous about your pace on the counter.
Nails are running low...

Clumsy challenge that. Not malicious though, just mistimed I thought.
So far though we have held our own with 10 men, just got to try and keep possession and counter on the break.
Great free kick from Borini, great save by Camp.
An amazing result considering our "star" players were pretty average tonight.
Sinclair was fairly anonymous, he always is when Tate is at left back, Taylor is far more attacking.
Dobbie did ok, great goal but not much else.
Dyer looked a bit jaded and struggled to beat his man.
Borini had a poor game given the standards he has set - good movement but his touch let him down too often.
The unsung heroes were Leon Britton and Joe Allen. Incredible work rate, constant terrier work in the engine room. Their pressing play meant Forest had little but the long ball into the box, bar Earnshaw's nice goal.
Britton, MOM for me.
STID.
