Well I sold the Octavia Rs and have been on the look out for a wrx PPP wagon on about an 04 plate. So far I've spotted one that I liked but it was 2 days before I sold the Skoda so I didn't put a deposit on it and it was sold the next day.

I'm around the oxford area and haven't spotted anything good enough to look at and within about 100 miles. It seems they are pretty scarce! If you spot one please let me know; it is getting cold on my motorbike!

Mine was pretty much the car you're after. Sold it at asking price within a week of putting up the Ad. Lovely cars, they sell fast! Keep looking and you'll find one, just have a cash deposit ready for the right car.

Don't look in my garage, it'll make you cry.
I had already spotted yours. I would have snapped your hand off! SL spec as well :-)

I'm not in a rush which is nice. Ill keep waiting for the right one to come along. If you spot anything let me know.

Cheers.

So I spotted this yesterday:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

Called up and it's got good history and mot and is keenly priced.

I was going to head down this afternoon but it was going to be dark so told the guy could he ring me before they shut and ill come down for 08:30 in the morning. Phones just before closing and was told another potential customer is getting there at 09:30 and they are giving him first refusal. The guy is going to call me to let me know after the guy has been. Not holding out much hope and wish I'd headed over this afternoon.

Oh well, I guess I'll keep looking.

I'm not against the buying standard and getting a decent mapper onto it. It is just that the PPP makes the insurance thing a lot simpler and cheaper.

I await the call!

There's a GB270 coming to JCT Cars tomorrow but it's nearly 10k
I'm sure it's lovely; too lovely for my muddy mountain bike and climbing gear. 5k is the budget, solely because anything more and i'll worry about it too much.

Thanks for the info though. Those GB270's do look v nice.

Any body got any prior knowledge of this:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

I originally wrote it off, as it's quite a distance for me to get to on two wheels at this time of year. It is also higher mileage than I wanted and slightly older so doesn't have the cc side skirts.

It is however, just about the only car I can find which fits the bill at the moment!

It has a years warranty, but not from the garage, it is one of those warranty companies. I agree that it is over priced. It has been up for sale for atleast a few weeks. I am however really struggeling to find a ppp wagon. In the time I have been looking -around 2 months- I have spotted only 2 that I would have bought and they both sold within 2 days, and before I could get to them.

I'm not sure whether I should wait longer for hopefully an 05 PPP wagon with less miles for 5k or go and look at this. I'm getting tired of looking. Maybe I should just compromise and get a standard wrx.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I think I'll open my search up to include the standard wrx. The ppp does make my insurance situation easier, however I reckon I could see out my current policy with a standard wrx and then get the mods next year at the same time my insurance is up for renewal. I'm 27 so have to be a bit careful with the insurance side of things to stop it getting silly.

Thanks again.

My boggo WRX wagon was insured for less than £500 with a 25 year old g/f driver on the policy.
Doesn't seem too bad to me! I also wanted a PPP, but will be going down the modded route as described. Easier option in the end!
How does it feel with that sort of mileage on it?

Some 2004s have different dash (heater controls).

For me, I dont like a 'tuner' to mess with my cars, at least with PPP you know that it should have been done right.

There is a nice looking green one in the trader, just been dropped in price i see to 3495 or there about and its a SL.
Thanks again gents. I'd spotted the green one. The price is about right but I'd prefer to spend more and have fewer miles. I also can't be bothered having to swap the wheels as I don't want gold and I don't want 18's. I am slightly limited on the motorbike as visiting that in this weather doesn't appeal. Something will turn up.

I kind of agree with the PPP vs tuner thing. I would prefer something ready to go out of the box without me having to mess with it.

Something close, nice and for the right price will appear soon I can feel it.

The green one is down to 3200. I'm tempted to go look but it is miles away from me. It has just had some work done to the headgasket. Is this an issue. It's a lot of car for the money but 92k is making me nervous.

Yes I have thanks. It's just had head gasket work. I'm not sure if that's good or bad! The mileage also puts me off a bit. I decided I'd rather spend more money and get something a year or two newer and with less miles. Tempting though.

Thanks for pointing it out. Have you any opinions on it?

I'm patient. I'm also off work from Friday which should give me some time to go looking.

I agree. From my searches they do look to be generally more expensive.

I'm off work from Friday so hoping to have some time to go and look at 2 I have my eye on. Got to get the puncture on my motorbike fixed first though!
