Over the winter I think I'll probably change the box in my p1. It has an '09 Sti EJ25 block with a TD05 20G and is making around 380bhp and 420lb/ft.

Would you go for PPG internals for the 5-spd or fit a later 6-spd?

The 6-speed box needs a new prop and driveshafts which makes the two options fairly similar in cost terms. The 6speed gives the option of DCCD and ABS which seems a worthy upgrade.

Any opinions, thoughts welcome. Ta smile

go drive a car with a six speed first...very different feel from the five speed.
Thanks, I've driven a few newage cars with the 6-speed box but never a GC8...

Thanks Vixpy. I always thought PPG were good for monster torque!

Ever come across Par-Engineering gearsets?

The car is so torquey and driveable, I don't think it really warrants a 6-speed - and, as you say, the 5-speed has a lovely feel.

I will try to get a run in a reasonably powerful 6-speed to get a feel for it.

Cheers
