Sad day tomorrow, the Impreza is sold.

At 159.5k miles it's been brilliant - expensive but brilliant. If anyone is interested have updated the blog for running costs over three years and 85k miles that I have put on the car. Now that it's just about bankrupted me time to get a diesel for a while frown

Nice Turbo 2000, the same colour as mine (I have silver wheels).

Yeah, the cambelt is a killer - fortunately it also had a clutch not long before I bought it. What is a killer though is the amount spent on fuel over those miles which I work out to be £18.5k ish at an average 26mpg and £1.25 per litre over my ownership - Eeek.

Fun comes at a cost. Would you really have been happier driving a Mondeo or some such other bland device?
I have no regrets and had plenty of fun biggrin I'm actually quite sad to be seeing the car go to a new home. I updated the blog because there are sometimes posts where people ask about the costs of running a Subaru, it was more for a 'well I did and this is what I actually spent'. Never really bothered about the fuel, just added more when it was needed smile It's only after the event that I've worked it out and thought 'crikey!'

Wow, you did more in maintenance in the last year than I have done in the last 4 years on mine.
My every day motor doing almost 30,000 miles a year; that's what it took. Apart from the fuel pump failure (which even with I still managed to drive home from London to Lancashire) the car has been 100% reliable.
