What's a 22B worth to you today?
Hard cars to value in today's market.
Super desirable and rare but never rallied, but look exactly like McRae's car - an all-time rally icon.
Not really any faster than an STi in a straight line but much more composed and quicker in the corners.
Arguably disappointing back in the late 90's as the rumours were all about 350bhp, yet they sold out in Japan instantly and turned out to be very special to drive after all.
They are much rarer and surely better to drive than a Lancia Delta Evo2, which was also never rallied incedentally, yet rarer versions are making very strong money. Much rarer than an NSX too.

Wish I could still find a good one for £35k!
I actually owned one back in the day and loved it, despite wishing Subaru had gone the whole hog with the power output. Going for 2.2 litres seems a bit daft if it's not making any more power. I agree the torque was strong but still.
So where would you put your £45k?

My best 22B story (by far) is when I went to watch the RAC rally. Driving between stages, I came up to a junction and who was ahead of me? Only Colin McRae and Nicky Grist in their Ford Focus rally car. Naturally I did my best to keep up. Colin played it cool and eased past a few cars, then once round a bend and out of sight he put the hammer down and disappeared. A great moment.
I was later ushered onto a stage by one of the marshalls assuming the 22B to be one of the competitors. So tempting, but decided to follow the other punters which was no doubt for the best!
I have a red Evo VI TME now. Fantastic car actually but I'm now torn between a good Integrale or a 22B. The Impreza is the best of the lot to drive by the way. Ideally I'd have all three but something tells me the 22B is going to surpass the Integrale. 400 made compares to 12,000 Integrale Evos (Evo 1 + Evo2)!
