Hi any one know if the suspension will fit and work please , car it's supposed to be for is a jdm 2001 Sti wagon , car it's for is a 2004 fsti , the front mounts appear the same , the rear mounts look the same but I know at some point the mounts were changed to a different design or was that just widetrack ? The fsti and impreza is not widetrack , any ideas please thanks

I have a set of coilovers from Tein that were for the Impreza 2001 sti wagon and I want to fit them on the 04 fsti , I will use the same mounts currently on the fsti so I wonder if that would work , is there some way of working out the different mount types , I did read your reply but I should have mentioned above I assumed they were the same , if they did physically fit our there any other factors ?

Hi cheers for the reply , the top mounts in your photo are different to my bugeye Impreza top mounts so i take it I have the newer top mounts , so it appears likely that the top mounts are the same on both my cars , I'm hoping that the coilovers should fit , the Tein ones I have do not come with top mounts , I just need to find some one who can rebuild a shock on the Tein coilovers

Hi Tein would not say what fits what as it's not what they sell for it , the coilovers did not come with mounts , the mount from the wagon which is what the suspension was bought for is different to the above photo , the suspension on the fsti has done a lot of miles which is why I feel both shock and Spring need doing , the Impreza failed it's mot on one shock , I could not buy one so bought a full set of coilovers , I just changed the rear set of shocks , so I now have a brand new front set one older but very new looking rear shock and one leaking rear shock , if I can get the shock repaired then I basically have a complete set of coilovers for the fsti that's the plan any way

Cheers for your posts , I know now they won't fit with the current mounts , I will send off the shock to Tein and see if it's repairable at a sensible price they apparently don't do single shocks ? , if it is then two mounts to be bought , if not then it's either buy the proper set which is around 505£ or wait the standard Sti set up well and truly fail , they are looking a bit knackered but car must be on around 135 plus miles now so they must be worn out even if they are still working , I was wondering if a spring will snap I don't know how common that is

Well for 300£ plus a bit of petrol and about 4 hours to fit , a very good mod to have done , the fsti is much sharper and the ride is not much different regards road manners , the Mrs who drives the car and is not a petrol head even said she thought it was a very good improvement so I got the stamp of approval after spending money on a car always a good thing as I know my place lol , I adjusted the front standard Subaru camber bolts to give as much negative camber as possible the top mounts on the front are set to 0 camber , I was thinking more tyre wear , car is lowered between 3/4 to an inch so only a slight drop I wanted to keep it practical and again not wear tyres out , any one got advice on camber set up plus how much adjustment from Subaru camber bolts , I have not had tracking checked I'm just keeping an eye on tyre wear as in theory suspension change as its small should not effect tracking , any input from any one regards tracking or camber would be appreciated thanks
