They are still OK, Diplodocids make up a larger group that apatosaurs and brontosaurs are in.

It looks like one guy found "Apatosaurus", and another found "Brontosaurus", but it was then decided they were the same, and the Brontosaurus name was dropped.
Everything called Bronotsaurus was now just a part of the Apatosaurus group.

This is what has changed now, and they have been separated again

Talking of weaponised tails, one of the great ones was the Stegosaurus.
They had a spiked tail, but it didn't have a particular name.



This stuck, so now it's called a Thagomizer.
