Hi all,

any auto electricians on here? The central locking solenoids on my Citroen Saxo are constantly cycling (up, down, up, down...) I've removed the system fuse for now to save the car battery.

Why has it started doing this?

I did notice the passenger door catch assy was very sticky (thought the solenoid might be struggling with it) so removed it and soaked it in PlusGas, now it's good as new but the cycling problem remains.

The keyfob has very recently had a new battery and has worked since replacement but now the car will not respond to it at all? (All standard equipment). I've tried to reinitialise it going by the AutoData instruction of manually unlocking the passenger door then pushing the lock button on the fob twice but nothing?

The alarm goes off every time I open the door and continues until the ignition key is recognised 10 seconds after being inserted.

But surely if all the locks are cycling up and down they must all be connected and moving correctly?

Thanks for the replies all. In the end I found it to be a combination of things;

Sticky tailgate lock cylinder and corroded connectors in the drivers door multiplug.

Hope this helps anyone with similar problems.
