Hi all

Makes a chirp, chirp sound when idling, spraying water on quietens it down for a minute or so. I remember it did it last winter but didn't notice the noise in the summer so forgot all about it.

Doesn't look worn, or cracked should I?

a) Just bung a new Dayco on
b) Try to clean it

If I clean it does it need to come off or can I just spray it with brake cleaner while its running?

Googling reveals that Dayco belts have a different a "W" groove, more compatible with worn pulleys and alignment issues. Apparently.

I'm going to have to take mine off to measure it, the car has aftermarket AC so not sure what length I need.

Interesting, I can't see talc lasting long though.

The belt needs to come off so I can measure it before ordering so I might as well have a go at cleaning it.

I'll check for pulley alignment, but if it's out I don't really know how to correct it. (unless something is worn)
