Stuck open injector
Discussion
I hydraulic locked my engine while turning it over on the starter motor. Pulled the plugs and one cylinder is full of fuel. It's an Audi S4 2.7t engine, the injectors are Bosch EV14 750cc. I bought them 2nd hand but they were unused so that rules out just sending it back for a replacement. Does anyone have any ideas on how to unstick it? So far i've seen a video on youtube that was a bloke putting 12v to it and hitting it with a hammer.
I took it out and give it a love tap with the hammer and it's fine now. I did see that suggestion on an injector refurbishing website so it must be quite a common problem with new/refurbished injectors that have been sitting for a while. Better solution than sending it to a refurb company and paying them £50-£250 to hit it with a hammer on my behalf. I've learnt a lesson, next time i'll test them before fitting, only need to connect a 9v battery to check they click.
