Does it make sense to spunk a load of money on decent oil, or would tesco 50p for a barrel stuff work just as well?

My car is on 105K and gets a kickin', so my theory is its worth spending a bit more every 10,000 miles....

That's the oil that will be going into my car next week. biggrin

I've been using the oil this has replaced - CFS 5w40 NT - for the past 10k miles and I like to believe it's made a difference in comparison with the Castrol oil that I used before!
Yes me too. I have been using the old stuff for 4 years or so. There is a very specific part that is prone to wear on my engine (Vw TFSI) and this stuff does seem to prevent it from wearing. No idea if using a bog standard oil would have been any different though.
