Just received an earth strap from ebay which should be 6" long and it's 8" long because fk me and ebay's a and i now need to order one the exact right size.

Has anyone here ever used a company that makes them to order?

Is an earth strap two inches longer than it needs to be really unusable? They're designed to be flexible; can't you just lose the extra couple of inches?

If it really needs to be the exact lenth you can cut off one of the end fittings and crimp on a new one - that will lose an inch or so, if you feel it's worth the bother.
Unfortunately it's for a really specific, tight and cramped location. It's got to be bang on.

The now spare one will go in the drawer so I can't find it when I need it for something else.

Could be a problem of different understanding/definitions of 6" cable.

6" of free cable
6" eyelet hole centre to eyelet hole centre
6" end to end

That 6" cable listed says it's 175mm(7") in the description. Try discussing it with the seller before placing an order and settle on what your key dimensions are.
It's sort of turned out to be that. New order to measure I've listed ID of eyelets and distance centre to centre.
