First time query

I've just completed my first week driving commercially on LGV.

I was running close to my first break and my tachograph flashed break 1 warning. By the time I parked up it had frozen on break 1. It took a few mins to change mode to rest, then I took my 45 mins. Tacho was showing 4 hours 15 when it froze. Is other work added to this driving time etc? Can that take you over the regulated hours?
What's the outcome re driving hours?

Thanks grumpy52, I didn't know about the flashing at 4 hours 15, it freaked me out. A lesson learned though. I didn't know re pressing the down arrow for my driving hours that session either.
I was giving 12 -13 mins for daily checks but will show 15 mins as suggested.
