C1+E to CE

I have C1+E entitlement, grandfather rights with 107 restriction, I want to upgrade to either C1E with no restrictions or can I go straight to CE? I don't actually need it, but it could give me an alternative choice of work for the future. I have an American pick up with a 5th wheel trailer that is currently just within my licence limits but planning an upgrade!
