Our current caravan is a continental one made by Dethlef. We are currently contemplating changing it for another new to us caravan.

My wife thinks we should find another continental one on the basis that the build quality is better even if they dont have the same features as a UK one.

Is she right?

In a word, yes!

But they are heavy and less desirable come resale time so swings and roundabouts.

As an ex Dethleffs dealer selling them new was like pushing water up a hill, no fault of the van but they just aren't the typical UK caravanner bag.
Well as we'll be buying second hand the fact they are less desirable come resale time will help us on purchase. Just need to find them! Guess there's no point buying one abroad?

I think there is. I bought my German motorhome from Germany last year and it worked out exceptionally well.

Most dealers speak English and are savvy with export requirements. Plus the whole process is a bit of an adventure and, for us, was highly enjoyable.

Have a look on www.suchen.mobile.de
Thanks for that, for some reason your link doesnt work for me, but googling the site sorted that. Some totally different layouts available abroad, all very interesting.
