Motorhome radio reception

I have a Sprinter based motorhome (Geist Matterhorn) with bed area over cab. It has a "Rubber duck" type aerial on N/S wing and reception was lousy so I fitted an amplified screen aerial by Autoleads and that is just as bad. Has anyone had this issue and solved it?

Like you spent £100 + on amplified ariel and things aren't that much better ! Usually take ipod along as a back up.

Yes I do that and also have memory stick facility on head unit but I prefer the chit chat of radio and "Pop Master" on Radio 2
