I currently take a small calor bottle with me (4.5kg) to fuel the Cadac safari chef we use on occasion when away.
My thinking is that I can buy another low pressure regulator and just screw that in to the Propane bottle which is with the caravan itself to avoid taking 2 bottles and the extra weight.
I know I could have a BBQ point installed on the van, but at £150, it seems a rather extreme way of doing it when I can get a regulator for less than a tenner plus additional pipe for the same amount. Total outlay £20.

I'm thinking of a 5m hose to allow flexibility in regards siting of the BBQ, however I just want to check there is no limitation or best practice around what length I can use?

I do use the hob on occasion, but other than that, electric hook up always powers the other stuff.
I didn't think un-connecting the gas supply would be a big issue, that way just use one bottle and save a little weight, and just re-connect up as and when required.
On second thoughts though, I'm probably just better off sticking with 2 bottles and have the flexibility of being able to use the hob and BBQ at the same time.

These Lite bottles, do you know if I can take an existing (non lite) bottle into a stockist and swap them or do I have to buy a new one again with relevant deposit etc?

I have a selection of Propane, Calor and Patio gas ones at home, mostly half full, such a grind!
