Newby here. Got a motorhome will be using the loo but have read not to empty it in the down stairs toilet at home. So where am I supposed to responsibly dispose of the contents if i'm not on a site.

I'm going to call the next house I buy. " Thetford House " biggrin only a few will get the meaning LOL. So far I have bought the pink cistern chem but nowhere to put it and the camping quick dissolve loo paper where as I could have bought the cheap Aldi paper as no difference except I paid £7.00 for 8 rolls as apposed to £2.67 I hope I savvy up soon or my wallet will be emptied by silly mistakes.

No solids into our cassette! It fills up quick enough without them anyway!

Forget your fancy chemicals, I've been using liquid biological clothes detergent (as I heard others do too) as a tank additive. Cheap stuff from Aldi/Lidl seems to work the best. Smells much nicer and doesn't stain everything blue/green.
Can I ask, what ratio of water are you diluting it down too ? I want to try this idea myself sounds very good idea

So this weekend was our first trip out in van and the "Thetford Emptying" was a doddle nowhere near as bad as I was expecting by a long shot. Happy days, if that is all it is. Thanx for all the tips chaps.
